Author Biography

Bruce Campbell, PhD, is the creator and first Executive Director of the ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia Self-Help Program, a non-profit organization that offers a suite of low-cost and free self-help courses over the Internet, plus two websites with over 700 pages of resources for people with ME/CFS and fibromyalgia. The organization was founded in 1998 and has conducted hundreds of self-help classes and groups.

Dr. Campbell is a graduate of Stanford University and holds a PhD from the University of California. Before becoming ill with CFS, he worked in the Patient Education program at the Stanford Medical School. The program developed self-management courses for multiple chronic conditions.

He is the author of many articles and the self-help book Managing Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. His account of recovery was originally published in shorter form in the magazine of the CFIDS Association of America as Using Self-Help to Recover from CFIDS.
